Broke af? It pays to look to the Loire.
The late summer hasn't been kind to our wallets, but value can be found in the Loire Valley.
Don’t bother looking at your bank account this evening. I can tell you what to expect before you open your banking app. Spoiler alert: it’s not good. A frivolous weekend has resulted in a bank balance that resembles a door number in a cul de sac. You’ve been living it larger than large, and now you’re paying the price.
But, alas! The summer is not quite over, and you’re now left blinking, dry-mouthed, at a rather full calendar of long-awaited birthdays, celebrations and dinner parties, each necessitating you bring a bottle. Each of these important events deserves delicious wine, but current circumstances mean you must acquire it cheaply.
Fear not, for I have brought together a few choice bottles from the Loire Valley — a trending region to go to for value, but a long-time favourite of wine professionals. Trust me, no one knows where to find good value wine like those who must buy it regularly.
